WHAT IS GROUNDING?
Day to day life can be chaotic, stressful and often so fast paced, that you can be left feeling like you are completely run off your feet.
Taking five minutes on a daily basis to ground is one of the most simple, but most effective ways to slow yourself down and create greater sense of calm.
The process of grounding is super easy, and is a quick and simple practice that you can slip into your daily routine, or draw on whenever you need to be bought back down to earth.
Recent studies by the University of Oregon have shown that spending just 10 minutes outside a day can help with sleep, pain, stress and even wound healing!
Getting Grounded:
Stand barefoot on the grass and notice how the texture feels on the sole of your feet.
Starting with your left foot, roll your foot from your heel to your toes, and notice the different sensations.
After rolling your left foot, bring yourself back to your centre, distributing your balance equally between your two feet.
Now move to your right foot, rolling from heel to toe, feeling the energy transferring from the ground to the sole of your foot.
Centre your balance again, noticing how you almost feel glued to the grass, the connection between your feet and the ground.
Notice how calm and safe you feel - this is the feeling of being grounded.
So next time you’re enjoying a cup of tea in the sunshine, going for a walk in the park or even tidying up your veggie garden, take your shoes off and take a moment to make direct contact with the earth beneath you.
