WHAT IF YOU JUST STARTED?

 
 
 

Thinking of starting a side hustle? Of moving house? Of applying for a job? There are often a lot of real-life hurdles as well as internal battles that you have to overcome before you can hit ‘go’, take that first step, take action. 

Internal limiting beliefs can cloud your vision with self-doubt, worry and stress. Not to mention the endless list of what if’s – what if no one likes my idea, what if no one follows me, what if they say no? 

But what if we have been thinking about ‘getting started’ all wrong. 

What if we break ‘getting started’ down, into easy, achievable and well-paced steps. You really can just get started on the little things. 

What if the healing, the growth, the change, can happen as you go? This is perhaps the best way to go about getting started.


Sometimes, the best time to hit go, to get started, is when you aren’t 110 per cent ‘ready.’ Because what does being completely ready even look like? What does being completely ready even mean?

Everyone has limiting beliefs, everyone has periods of self-doubt, everyone lacks confidence sometimes. Even your favourite authors, entrepreneurs, artists, podcast hosts, business owners – every single one of these people had to start somewhere. I truly believe that everyone and anyone can be the next someone or something, everyone can do what they set out to do. Maybe they made a phone call, sent an email, started journaling once a day. By taking small steps, at least at first, towards your goal, towards your dream, towards your ‘it’, you can slowly build your confidence, one step at a time. 

Identifying the limiting beliefs that prevent you from being your most confident self is a great first step to getting started on your dream. Just don’t let the ‘healing work’ stop you from taking any action at all. Piece by piece, you’ll start to overcome whatever limiting beliefs are holding you back as you go, but it often happens with healing and action in equal measure.
